Chapter 12: Enter the Goblin Kingdom
Elsa
Grunt and I stood in front of the gates to the Goblin Kingdom, and I knew that Anna was just behind this wall. "Well... Let's getting going." Grunt huffed as he starts to walk closer to the gate, me close behind. I just kept looking at the gate, I could feel Anna, it was like she was closer then she really was. Stuck in my thoughts, I ran into Grunt not knowing he stopped, "What's wrong?" I ask and go down to his level to see what he's looking at me. By the door, was a goblin guard. His helmet was over his face and his arms were crossed and I could see his chest moving slowly up and down.
"Is... Is he asleep?" I ask and I see Grunt nod, "Yeah... Something not right." He says. "What are you talking about? He's asleep, we can just sneak in." I say and start to walk ahead. "Elsa!" Grunt yells but I'm already at the gate pushing it open. I turn to Grunt and wave him over. I see him sigh as he runs over to me and we walk in. The village inside the kingdom was small with tiny clay houses and everything looked the same. I start to walk slowly looking around.
"Shouldn't there be like goblins or people around?" I ask as I stop at a small fountain with not too much water coming out. "Yeah... This place should be crawling with goblins..." He says and stops next to me. "I think I understand why you said something wasn't right... This is to easy..." I say and right when I saw that, I see an arrow go past my head my hair getting pushed past. "Get down!" I hear Grunt yell as another arrow gets shot right as I lower myself down.
"Where are they coming from!?" I ask as I hear yelling and louder noise coming to us. "On top of the houses, this must be the welcome party." Grunt says and does a chuckle. I roll my eyes, "This is no time to joke, I need to get into the castle..." I say and raise my head up to see a small opening past some of the armed goblins coming to us. I lower myself down before I get shot and look at Grunt, "I see a small opening I think I can fit in but it's surrounded by guards, I don't know how we're going to get in." I heard the guards moving closer, soon, we'll dead and I'll never get to Anna.
"I have a plan, and you're not going to like it." I hear Grunt say next to me. I look at him and raise an eyebrow, "What are you going to do?" I ask. Grunt won't even look at me anymore. "Grunt?" "When you see the guards move, run to the opening I'll find you later." He says, before I could even ask what he was talking about, I see Grunt stand and run past me. "Hey! I saw the human! She went this way!" He yells and waves his arms like a crazy person catching the attention of the guards. Grunt gives me one last look before he takes off.
I watch as the guards go after him, swards and pointed sticks aimed at him. I felt a tear go down my face; Grunt could either die or get hurt because of me. Why would he do that? No one has given me a gift before and well... I just wanted to protect you. I hear play in my head, Grunt did this because his my friend, and he cared for me just like I did for him. I closed my eyes and give a small pray that Grunt would be okay before I stood up and walked to the small opening.
The closer I got to the opening, the small it got. I got on my hands and knees to crawl my way into the hole feeling claustrophobic creeping up on me. I feel my breathe start to come out heavy, I couldn't breathe... "Okay Elsa... Happy thoughts, you need to calm down your breathing or you're going to pass out and not save Anna." I tell myself which was just making it worse.
I start to think about Anna again, how we use to play in the snow, or how we bagged our parents to get us a puppy. We had good moments in our lives, we fight but we're sisters, it's what we do. I wish I could take back what I said to her, if I didn't get so angry with her, she would have never wished for Blaise to take her away. But... if she didn't, would I have meet Jack?
